One of the biggest gaming reveals in the last few months was the new Castlevania game which is being produced by French developer, Evil Empire. The team has talked a little more about the setting for Castlevania: Belmont‘s Curse, which as a French studio, they were proud to announce that the 2D game will be set in Paris, France. Here’s some of what they say to expect from the location:
“Being a French team, we were arrogant enough to set the game in France,” Evil Empire’s marketing manager Matt Houghton explains, and being a game set in Paris, you’ll be scaling Notre Dame, exploring the catacombs, and doing battle with a corrupted version of Joan of Arc, because France. Houghton also gives a sly shoutout to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, adding: “Only berets and baguettes are missing, but I think you’ve had enough of that already.”
